TONAWANDA, NY – Pine Pharmaceuticals, one of the nation’s leading FDA-registered drug compounding facilities, officially broke ground on a $5.6 million, 25,000 square foot facility in the Riverview Solar Technology Park in Tonawanda, NY. Pine Pharmaceuticals anticipates that the new facility will create approximately 15 new jobs.
The facility will include several new cleanrooms to provide non-patient specific sterile injectable products for medical practices, clinics, hospitals and other medical facilities. The move will enable Pine Pharmaceuticals to accommodate its current and future growth.
“Facility design is an essential component in preparing superior products,” said Alfonse J. Muto, Pharm.D., FIACP and owner of Pine Pharmaceuticals. “Our new state-of-the-art facility will allow us to continue to deliver the absolute highest quality compounded products to our customers while also giving us the space to grow our operations in Western New York.”
The project was approved for various incentives by the Erie County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA).
“The ECIDA, Erie County and the Town of Tonawanda worked collaboratively with us during every stage of the development,” said Muto. “We appreciate all of the hard work from our elected officials and local economic development professionals to make this project a reality.”
Town of Tonawanda Supervisor Joe Emminger added “We want to thank the Muto’s, the Montante team, the ECIDA and Erie County for making this expansion and job creation a reality. This project is just another example of the resurgence that we have seen over the past 5 years in our western section of the town.”
Pine Pharmaceuticals has hired Montante Construction to build the new facility and anticipates completion in the fall of 2017. Pine Pharmaceuticals has already begun hiring and expects the first wave of new employees to be in the facility by the end of the year.
“Our team came together to quickly offer Pine Pharmaceuticals a proposal that would meet their needs at a site that is NYS Shovel-Ready so the construction process for new buildings is streamlined and has a more predictable timeline,” stated Doug Elia, president of Montante Construction. “The project site is also part of what we call a low-impact green business park, combining a convenient location for Pine with attractive buildings and spectacular scenery.”
The Riverview Solar Technology Park is New York’s first solar-ready business park. The 200 acre business park offers both existing commercial space and shovel-ready land for new construction. In addition to the various solar applications that are utilized throughout the Solar Park to provide power to tenants, all buildings within this development are constructed using some of the latest green construction methods to minimize environmental impacts.
